To support the B40 community in managing health, the Ministry of Health Malaysia, together with ProtectHealth, introduced the PeKa B40 Healthcare Scheme. It covers citizens aged 40 and above receiving Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and their spouses, offering key healthcare benefits and support. Below is an overview of its key features and advantages.
What is PeKa B40?
PeKa B40 is a government healthcare initiative by Malaysia’s Ministry of Health, managed by ProtectHealth, aimed at supporting the B40 group in preventing and managing non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The program is available to Malaysian citizens aged 40 and above who receive Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (now Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah) and their spouses.

Key Benefits
- Free Health Screening: Includes medical and family history assessment, mental health screening, physical examination, breast screening for women, prostate screening for high-risk men, and blood and urine tests to evaluate blood cells, blood sugar, cholesterol, kidney function, and overall health.
- Medical Device Assistance: Provides up to RM20,000 in support for devices such as heart stents and pacemakers, artificial joints, hearing aids, spinal and limb prostheses, intraocular lenses, respiratory therapy equipment, nutritional support, and wheelchairs.
- Cancer Treatment Subsidy: Patients receiving cancer treatment at Ministry of Health hospitals are eligible for RM1,000 in treatment incentives (after completing a health screening), paid in two instalments: RM300 at treatment commencement and RM700 upon completion.
- Transport Allowance: Provides travel support for beneficiaries receiving medical device assistance or cancer treatment incentives, up to RM500 in Peninsular Malaysia and up to RM1,000 in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.
Important Notes
- No separate registration is required; eligible individuals are automatically enrolled in the program.
- Beneficiaries of the B40 Health Screening program can visit designated private clinics or hospitals with their MyKad, request a health check, and complete the screening free of charge.
