Smart Tech Up Grant – Empowering Local Businesses Towards Industry 4.0!

Launched by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) Malaysia, this grant is tailored for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-Tier Companies (MTCs). It supports the adoption of advanced smart technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, and Robotics, helping businesses enhance productivity and competitiveness.

The Smart Technology Uptake Programme, launched by Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), aims to assist and empower local businesses—particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-tier Companies (MTCs)—by focusing on implementing Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance productivity and competitiveness.

Industry 4.0, also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), represents the next stage in the digital transformation of manufacturing, propelled by disruptive trends such as increased data and connectivity, advanced analytics, enhanced human-machine interaction, and innovations in robotics.

Malaysian-owned businesses, particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-tier Companies (MTCs) in the manufacturing and related services sectors, are eligible to participate, subject to the following criteria:

  1. Must be incorporated under the Companies Act 2016.
  2. Should be at least 51% Malaysian-owned.
  3. Applicable to SMEs and Mid-Tier companies.
  4. Must have a minimum of three years of operational history.
  5. Require a valid business license from local authorities.
  6. Must be involved in manufacturing or manufacturing-related services (MRS).

  1. Funding of 50% up to a maximum of RM500,000 for projects and training.
  2. On-site Smart Factory Assessment (OSFA) for technology application.
  3. Comprehensive guidance from the initiation to the completion of the project
