EPF Statutory Contribution Rate Reverts Back to 11%
  • The 9% EPF statutory contribution rate will end by this month, starting from the July salary, EPF contribution rate will revert back to 11%.
Electricity Tariff Maintained for Both Domestic Users and Non-Domestic Users.
  • According to The Energy Commission (ST), domestic electricity users in peninsula Malaysia will continue to enjoy the rebate of 2-sen/kWh for their electricity bill while the surcharge for non-domestic electricity users will remain unchanged at 3.7-sen/kWh.
Form B E-Filing Submission Deadline
  • e-Filing deadline of Form B is on 15.07.2022. Individuals who have business income will need to submit on time.
LHDN One Month Grace Period for Entities who Yet Declare Their Income
  • LHDN discovered that approximately 31,600 entities did not declare their income. Hence, the authority has decided to give a one month grace period starting from 15 June to 15 July 2022 to them for submission. Upon the expiration of the grace period, the authorities will then carry out civil and criminal investigations.
RM0.50 will be imposed for Every MyDebit Cash Out Withdrawal
  • MyDebit Cash Out is a feature that allows individuals to withdraw cash from selected merchants and retailers without paying any extra charge. However, banks across Malaysia will start to charge RM0.50 for each MyDebit Cash Out withdrawal starting from 1 July 2022.
Rapid KL Free Ride Will End On 15 July 2022
  • As announced by the Prime Minister, free public transport rides for all Rapid KL services will be effective until 15 July 2022. For individuals who wish to enjoy this promotion are encouraged to download the Pulse app and fill up a survey form or directly fill up a physical survey form at the service counter.
Expect Massive Price Hikes of Goods Starting from July
  • According to the government, instead of controlling the ceiling price of goods, subsidies will be channeled directly to the target needy groups. Which means there will probably be massive price hikes of goods in July.
Second Phase of Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM) Payment Will Be Distributed in Stages
  • According to the announcement, the second phase of the BKM distribution started from 27 June to 5 July. Individuals can contact LHDN for more information if they fail to receive BKM after 5 July .
New JPJ Operation Hours at UTC Branches
  • According to the JPJ announcement, operating hours for its counters at UTC will be extended until 9pm in West Malaysia while 7pm in East Malaysia on working days. Please refer to the picture below for details.
JPJ Launched Electronic Queuing System (JPJeQ)
  • JPJ launched JPJeQ APP which allows people to get queue numbers through scanning QR codes and also to check the status of their waits.
BINGKAS Programme: RM3,600 Financial Aids
  • The Selangor state government will introduce BINGKAS financial aid starting from July 2022, where eligible recipients will receive RM300 monthly payment over the year to lessen their financial burden.
Estimated Raise of OPR
  • After our country raised the OPR for the first time in May, the UK, the US and HongKong also announced the raise of their interest rate to bring down inflation. Hence, our country is believed to raise the OPR gradually in the July MPC meeting for economic recovery and reduce inflation.
