NRC proposes reopening nation’s borders without mandatory quarantine
The National Recovery Council (NRC) has proposed for the full reopening of the country’s borders as early as March 1. All the travelers must undergo the Covid-19 test before their departure and upon arrival in Malaysia. Travelers with negative results would be allowed to continue their journey without mandatory quarantine.
The first phase of BKM Financial Aids will be released in March
The first phase of Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM) will be distributed in March 2022.
The beneficiaries in the family group will receive the subsidies in March, June, September and December. The single group of beneficiaries will receive the subsidies in March and September.
Beneficiaries can receive the subsidies directly through their bank accounts. If beneficiaries do not have a bank account, they can visit BSN Bank to get the subsidies.
eCCRIS Registration is Now Digital
If an applicant wants to apply for a bank loan or credit card, the bank needs to check the applicant’s CCRIS credit history. If the applicant has a poor credit history, the applications for loans or credit cards can be rejected easily.
According to recent information from Bank Negara, Malaysian individual new users may now directly register for eCCRIS online and use this platform to view their CCRIS credit report.
Malaysian blood donor privilege
The Ministry of Health announced the privilege for blood donors. The lowest privilege (one blood donation within a year) includes treatment and medical treatment and second class wards for a period of 4 months . The highest privilege (Over 50 times blood donation or over 150 times for aferesis donors within a year) including free outpatient treatment and first-class medical treatment and wards for 10 years and second-class wards of life after 10 years in first-class ward.
SSPN will distribute 3% of Dividend
The chairman of the PTPTN announced on February 22 that 3% of Dividend will be distributed to depositors. A total of RM206 million of Dividend was distributed and 5.24 million depositors were able to receive Dividend. 3% Dividend will be credited to the depositor’s SSPN account on February 25th. SSPN’s 3% Dividend is still competitive when compared to fixed deposits.
Bank Negara will announce whether to adjust the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR)
Bank Negara will hold the Monetary Policy Committee Meeting (MPC) on 2 and 3 March to discuss the need to adjust the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR). The results of the meeting will be announced on the afternoon of 3 March.
The current OPR of Bank Negara is 1.75% p.a., which has been maintained since July 2020, and also the lowest interest rate in our country. The OPR will affect Malaysian home loan, car loan, bank interest as well as the trend of the ringgit and the trend of market funds.
SSPN distributes extra 1% bonus
In order to encourage people to deposit their money into the SSPN Education Fund, all users who opened an SSPN account before 31 December 2018 and deposit a minimum of RM500 from 22 February to 30 April 2022, they can get a 1% bonus.
The 1% reward will be calculated based on the amount deposited by the user during the promotion period and will be automatically deposited into the user’s SSPN account in August. The reward is up to RM8,000.
