- The Ministry of Education has confirmed the continuation of the School Opening Grant (BAP) in 2024, providing RM150 to every primary and secondary school student.
- Recipients will automatically receive the grant in terms of cash or credit deposited, no application needed.
RM2400 Electric Motorcycle Rebate
- As announced by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar, the Electric Motorcycle Use Promotion Scheme is now available for applications.
- Eligible Malaysians, with an annual income not exceeding RM120,000, can receive a rebate of up to RM2,400 upon purchasing an electric motorcycle.

Adjustment of Electricity Tariff 2024
- In 2024, there will be adjustments to household electricity fees. Those consuming between 601kWh and 1500kWh will incur additional charges ranging from 4.2% to 6.0%, equivalent to RM12 to RM32 monthly.
- This affects households with monthly bills between RM220.36 and RM737.50. For example, a household using 601kWh will experience a tariff increase from RM220 to RM232, reflecting a RM12 rise.
10% Sales Tax on Low-Value Goods Purchased Oversea
- Starting January 2024, a 10% sales tax will be levied on online purchases of low-value goods (LVG) in Malaysia. Whether the goods are delivered by sea, air, or land, a uniform 10% sales tax will be applicable to items priced below RM500.
- Sellers participating in these transactions are required to register with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department as Registered Sellers (RS).

Closure of SSPN Website
- Effective January 10, 2024, the myPTPTN website will replace the SSPN platform. In this transition, the full spectrum of functions currently housed on the SSPN website will be seamlessly migrated to myPTPTN.
- To continue enjoying these services, users are required to complete the registration process on the myPTPTN website.
New Government Grant Database: PADU System
