EPF Dividend 2022

• EPF Dividend for year 2022 will be announced in February 2023

Micro SMEs Financing Scheme Johor will be Finalised in February

• The Johor State government is expected to finalise a Johor State Financing Scheme for micro and SMEs in February. The loan amount of this scheme is from RM 50,000 to RM 500,000 and to further help entrepreneurs, 100% loan interest (for Micro) and almost half of the interest rate (for SMEs) will be borne by the state government. Further details are still to be announced.

Maybank Utilised Secure2u Authorisation

• According to Maybank announcement, Maybank users are required to use Secure2u verification for authorisation of the following transactions:
  • Foreign Telegraphic Transfer （FTT)
  • Visa Direct (VD)
  • Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) transfer
  • Maybank2u Savers account opening
  • FPX payment
  • First-time Favourite transfer
  • EzyPay Plus
  • Selected non-monetary transactions (View the full list here)

WhatsApp Launched “Proxy” Function

• Recently, WhatsApp has launched a new “Proxy” function in its apps to help its users access WhatsApp at any places that limit internet access on WhatsApp. By enabling Proxy, users can connect with their friends via WhatsApp as usual.
• To enable Proxy, you need to open WhatsApp > Settings > Storage and Data > Proxy and enter a proxy address you want to connect to.

New JPJ Counter (UTC) Operating Hours

• According to JPJ announcement, 13 JPJ counters in UTC will shorten their operating hours from 9pm to 5pm for certain days. Latest operating hours are as follow:

• Johor (Johor Bahru, Pasir Gudang), Kedah (Sungai Petani), Kelantan (Kota Bharu)
  • Sunday & Thursday (8.00 a.m. – 9.00 p.m.)
  • Monday to Wednesday (8.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.)
  • Friday & Saturday (8.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.)

• Kuala Lumpur (Sentul), Negeri Sembilan (Seremban), Perak (Ipoh), Pahang (Kuantan)
  • Monday & Friday (8.00 a.m. – 9.00 p.m.)
  • Tuesday to Thursday (8.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.)
  • Saturday & Sunday (8.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.)

SPM Examination Date

• According to the Malaysian Examinations Council, Examination date of SPM 2022 will fall between 20.02.2023 – 25.03.2023.

Deferment of Minimum Wages Order for Micro Enterprise

• The government has deferred implementation of the RM1,500 Minimum Wages Order for Micro enterprise (companies with less than 5 employees) until July 2023.
• The Minimum Wages Order came into force in May 2022. However, deferment was given for micro enterprises until January 2023. Now, the government has agreed to make another deferment until July 2023.

Budget 2023

• Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will table the revised Budget 2023 on 24.02.2023. Further details on current government subsidies are expected to be announced on that day.

Form EA Deadline

• Employers are required to provide Form EA to their employees on or before 28 February per annum.
