Starting from the 2025 tax year, the SSPN tax relief (up to RM8,000) will be limited to only one parent. Married couples can no longer claim it jointly or separately.
Regardless of how many children are under the SSPN scheme, the maximum claimable amount remains unchanged.
The SSPN personal income tax relief policy has been confirmed to be extended for three years, valid until 2027.

Households earning < RM5,000/month are eligible for RM100/month; senior citizens without spouses receive RM50/month. Hardcore poor households/singles under eKasih can receive grant for 12 consecutive months.
Recipients can only use their MyKad at designated stores to purchase necessities (e.g., rice, bread, eggs, medicine, etc.).
The balance can be accumulated, but must be used by December 31, 2025.
Eligibility and balance can be checked via the STR or MyKasih official websites/apps.

The government has introduced the Madani Employee Card (Kad Pekerja Madani), which offers eligible applicants up to 30% discounts at over 100 participating merchants, covering daily expenses such as shopping, dining, and transportation.
Applicants must be Malaysian citizens and active registered members of a trade union.
Applications can be submitted via the official Madani Worker Card website, with documents reviewed by the trade union.

The MyJPJ App now supports Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet for road tax and traffic fine payments.
How to use:
1. Open the MyJPJ App.
2. Choose your desired online service and proceed to the payment page.
3. Select Touch ‘n Go eWallet as your payment method.
4. Enter your TNG eWallet phone number and 6-digit PIN.
5. Tap Pay.

Bank Negara Malaysia has decided to maintain the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) at 3.00% per annum.
The next potential rate adjustment is expected in July this year.

The JPJ has introduced a new version of the physical driving license, the new physical license comes with 10 security features, making it safer and more durable, valid for up to 10 years.
The new physical license only applicable for Malaysians requiring a license for overseas use or foreigners renewing their license.
The MyJPJ App will also update the digital license accordingly. Existing licenses remain valid and usable.
