Diesel Cash Subsidy Increased to RM400

According to the Ministry of Finance, the government has increased the monthly diesel cash subsidy from RM300 to RM400 in response to rising diesel prices, aiming to ease the burden on affected groups. The measure is expected to benefit over 350,000 people, including 200,000 farmers and smallholders, as well as 150,000 diesel vehicle owners in Peninsular Malaysia.

Eligible diesel vehicle owners residing in Peninsular Malaysia with an annual income not exceeding RM100,000 can apply online via BUDI Diesel. The scheme is open year-round, and applications submitted in April will receive payments starting in May.

Tax Filing Deadline for Salary Earners

According to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN), salaried individuals using the e-BE online form must complete tax filing by 15 May. Those using manual (paper) forms must submit by 30 April, with late submissions subject to penalties.
It is generally recommended to file taxes every year once registered, even if income is below the taxable threshold, to avoid issues or explanations required by tax authorities.

After submission, taxpayers should keep all related documents and receipts for at least 7 years for audit or verification purposes.

MyJPJ Requires MyDigital ID Login from 1 May

According to the Road Transport Department (JPJ), starting 1 May, MyDigital ID will become the only login method for the MyJPJ app.
Users who have not registered must complete their MyDigital ID setup by downloading the app and registering online, including entering email, name, and MyKad details, followed by ID verification through photo capture and selfie authentication.
Once registered, users can log in to MyJPJ using MyDigital ID and complete the required verification process.

MyKad May Be Required for Diesel Purchases in Future

According to Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah, the government is studying the feasibility of using a MyKad-based system for subsidised diesel purchases, in line with the implementation of the BUDI95 fuel subsidy plan.
Currently, targeted diesel cash subsidies are implemented in Peninsular Malaysia, while East Malaysia maintains a universal subsidy of RM2.15 per litre due to higher rural dependency on diesel, and the proposal is still under review.
If implemented, the system may replace cash subsidies in Peninsular Malaysia with a usage-based model, where eligible users must present their MyKad at petrol stations to purchase subsidised diesel.
