PERKESO Officially Releases the Lindung 24 Jam Opt-Out Form

The Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) has officially released the Opt-Out Form for the Skim Lindung 24 Jam.

Employees who intend to withdraw from the scheme may now download, complete, and submit the official form. However, before making a decision, it is advisable to understand the scheme, the eligibility requirements, and the protection that will no longer be available after opting out.

What is the Skim Lindung 24 Jam?

Skim Lindung 24 Jam is a PERKESO initiative that extends protection to employees for accidents occurring outside normal working hours.

Subject to the scheme’s terms and conditions, the coverage generally includes:

  • Accidents occurring outside working hours
  • Non-work-related accidental disability
  • Accidental death occurring outside working hours
Who Can Apply to Opt Out?

According to PERKESO’s latest update, eligible employees may apply to opt out by submitting the official Opt-Out Form.

In general:

  • Malaysian employees may choose to opt out, subject to PERKESO’s eligibility requirements.
  • Foreign employees are currently required to remain under the scheme.
  • Applicants are required to sign a Declaration and Waiver as part of the opt-out process.

Employees should verify their eligibility before submitting an application.

What Happens After Opting Out?

Once the opt-out application is approved, employees will no longer be covered under the non-working-hours protection provided by Skim Lindung 24 Jam.

This means protection will no longer apply for:

  • Accidents occurring outside working hours
  • Disability resulting from non-working-hours accidents
  • Accidental death occurring outside working hours

Employees are encouraged to carefully evaluate the implications before deciding to withdraw from the scheme.
